"Best Live Band Since "The Who""

Band: Thru the Static
Location: The Garage, Burnsville, MN

Known for their powerful, fist-pumping rock sound, and first-rate showmanship all throughout the Twin Cities. Thru the Static is an Alternative/Rock/Power-pop group based inside Minneapolis, MN.
Currently touring in support of their self-titled album. Thru the Static gave a performance at The Garage worthy of putting them next to The Who.

The lead-singer, Dustin Phillips has the stage presence of a Billy Joe Armstrong, not to mention the looks. With girls and guys alike, screaming to take his shirt off. Josh Hetterick has been compared to as a spitting image of Tom Morello, but he holds a 4-stringed beast, known as the bass as wells as holding down the back-up harmonies. Drummer TJ Kammer may just be a spawn of one of Tommy Lee's many nightly encounters.

The crowd lit up with delight as soon as they started up with their lead single "Shade of Blue.” Nodding their heads and screaming in unison, everyone in the crowd was singing right along with them during "With A Heartbreak" which was a big fan favorite. Afterwards they debut a new song entitled "Save Me From Myself", which had all the women in the audience looking to, in fact, save Dustin Phillips.

Thru the Static is a group with some undeniable talent, and with the stage presence to match. They will definitely be taking a big step nationally. - JJ Publishing

Bio

After polishing their musical chops for years in an abandoned warehouse outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Thru the Static busted down the doors of the rock scene in 2003 with their debut album, Pictures of Ashes. Lead singer/Guitarist Dustin Phillips, bass player Josh Hetterick and drummer TJ Kammer combine their talents to created an all new alternative rock sound led by rich harmonies and gut wrenching breakdowns.

With the success of, Pictures of Ashes, the band went back to the studio and recorded their sophomore release, How the Story Goes.

With constant touring and millions of adoring fans, Thru the Static caught the attention of Covalent Records in 2007, who immediately signed the band after Josh locked himself to the office door and refused to leave until the label offered them a deal.

The band's latest album, Thru the Static, unites Dustin’s melodramatic vocals with back-to-basics melodies to churn out a record full of fist-pumping rock. With standout tracks like "Shade of Blue," the music of Thru the Static appeals to rock fans and non-rock fans alike.
