Thru Unseen Eyes

BandRock

Thru Unseen Eyes has a sound all it's own......a symbiotic blend of in your face metal riffs, driving rhythms, evocative, soulful vocals with layered melodic undertones. Rounding out the sound are deep, positive messages that reflect their focus as individuals and as a whole.

Biography

Thru Unseen Eyes began its journey as the late "SpiritFire Free" in Massillon, Oh, in the summer of '07 as a 4 piece act with temps for live shows. Very quickly, lead vocalist Mike Compton, lead guitarist Adam Robinson, and rhythm guitarist Ben Mutchler, parted ways with SpiritFire Free and became known as the current, Thru Unseen Eyes. Now, having a core line-up, new name, and new vision, they sought out a drummer in Dru Yost. The foursome met via internet musician networking, and Dru joined after leaving the band Post Mortum. Mike Compton began his music career in the church, leading worship and things of that nature. After 3 and 1/2 years of college he decided that route simply wasn't for him and began to seek an already established band with the same musical interests as himself. He posted a profile on bandmix.com and very quickly came into contact with Adam Robinson, and joined SFF. Adam had spent most of his youth and young adult days overcoming obstacles, and finding a sense of purpose and strength through his faith. He began playing guitar at the age of 12 and simply has not put his guitar down since then, literally. There was immediate chemistry with the two artists, however the line-up was far from complete. Soon after Mike's entry into the band, Ben Mutchler was referred by a friend to sit in on a practice for SFF and upon his first experience with Mike and Adam, saw instantly the chemistry he would soon have with the band himself. Ben has played the piano for the past 13 years, and the guitar for the past 7 years. Ben became inspired by a piano piece by ragtime composer Scott Joplin, "The Maple Leaf Rag". He quickly learned to play this piece and realized he could learn anything he set his mind to, therefore soon after he picked up the guitar as his next instrument to conquer. With his extensive background in piano, Ben has the uncanny ablility to write incredible music, sure to keep any listener entertained. By mere coincidence and luck he chose himself to enter the band. Soon, they parted ways with their old drummer and re-named themselves Thru Unseen Eyes, giving the band a new meaning and a new angle on their creative vision. After a short break playing live shows, Thru Unseen Eyes decided it was time to get back in the live circuit and began their search for drummer, Dru Yost. The four found instant chemistry, blending their musical interests and abilities to form an original sound an original focus, all their own. Currently the band is focusing on the release of their new EP, produced by Rick May, who is the drummer of the late multi-platinum band DC Talk. Singles such as "Scarred" and "Part of Me" are sure to set the band apart from many of the up and coming artists of our time. Influences for the band include: 12 Stones, Thousand Foot Krutch, Incubus, Korn, Metallica, Trapt, Pillar, Red & Breaking Benjamin.

Lyrics

Scarred

Written By: Diademas

Look me in the eye and just lie to me
The knife is in my back, I find it hard to breathe
You really had me fooled, because what I thought was real
Was only make believe, unlike this pain I feel

Pain I feel.....

I feel sorry for you
I'm letting go, letting go, I'm done with you
All you put me through
I've been scarred (x5)

I put my trust into you and you let me down
Don't try and make excuses, the proof is all around
You really had me fooled, because what I thought was real
Was only make believe, unlike this pain I feel

Pain I feel.....

I feel sorry for you
I'm letting go, letting go, I'm done with you
All you put me through
I'm better now, better now, because of you
I was scarred.....

I feel sorry for you
I'm letting go, letting go, I'm done with you
All you put me through
I'm better now, better now, because of you
I've learned from these scars
I've moved on (x8)

Resurrection

Written By: Diademas

I want to be perfect in your eyes
I'm sick and tired of the lies
I give myself to you tonight
You break me, but you, you saved me
I want to repay you with my life

Suicide, killing my old reflection
In my mind, erase this imperfection
Crossed the line, but I'm still alive
And tonight I'm a part of
The resurrection (x3)

And now we've only just begun
The progress made can't be undone
An unending journey towards the light
You break me, but you, you saved me
I want to repay you with my life

Suicide, killing my old reflection
In my mind, erase this imperfection
Crossed the line, but I'm still alive
And tonight I'm a part of
The resurrection.....

You break me, but you, you saved me.....

Suicide, killing my old reflection
In my mind, erase this imperfection
Crossed the line, but I'm still alive
And tonight I'm a part of
The resurrection (x3)

Part Of Me

Written By: Diademas

I can't do it all, I just want to make myself better
I didn't mean to lose control, I'm at an all time low
The secrets that I keep, I hid from the world
I don't care what they think, is my new mentality
Because...

It's overrated, the promises of this world
Because everything's wasted, when your not
Part of me, part of me

You have seen it all, you know that I can't make myself better
Never thought I would be disappointed in myself
The screwed up side of me, make it disappear
An alternate reality, how long can I stay here?

It's overrated, the promises of this world
Because everything's wasted, when your not
Part of me, part of me

I'm sick and tired, of failing you (x2)

I've gone too far, to ever look back
I'm stronger now, and you can't take that

It's overrated (x6)

It's overrated, the promises of this world
Because everything's wasted, when your not
Part of me.....
