A Skilled and Skillful Native American Drummer. This alternative healer knows her stuff. A delightfully mind opening audio experience that real adults tastes will love. - MIDWEST RECORD RECAP

"Female Musician - Review"

ThunderBeat's latest release, "Mayan Landing 2012" is one of the most exiciting exotic unique CD I’ve heard. ThunderBeat, aka Devara White, creates an atmospheric CD using a multitude of instruments and varied styles of music indigenous to different parts of the world. I would say that the disc will mostly be enjoyed by those who prefer World Beat/ New Age music or music where percussion takes center stage. The release uses a multitude of instruments, some of which I have never heard of before; indigenous and ethnic drums, including udu, box, djembe, and Native America ceremony styles; didgeridoo; cedar flutes; marimba; ocarina; percussion including chimes, bells, and rattles; sounds of the Jungle, and vocals.
I might also find myself getting lost in this disc after a hard day's work. The beats and combinations of sounds, prose, and vocals are soothing and refreshing. I find it an enjoyable listen.

"ThunderBeat: “Mayan Landing 2012"

When I first met ThunderBeat I was a bit in awe, having been playing her meditative CD Chakra Journey for relaxation after a stressful day. The cover art enticed me with thoughts of attaining balance, and after feeling deep peace, in walks Thunderbeat herself. Due to the albums top-notch quality, I had assumed this artist was a big-time New Age name so I felt privileged to meet her. Since then, I have witnessed this great talent demonstrating her drum playing at various performances, attacking the drum with the passion and skill of the late, great John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, but also branches out to several types of Native drums and keyboards.
Born to be a musician, ThunderBeat has recently released her fourth album Mayan Landing 2012, which she composed and produced. Mayan Landing evokes power, magic, and Native wisdom. This is pure temple music, sounding at once ancient, tribal, and mysterious. One envisions themselves in the middle of a Mayan initiation ceremony around a fire, among the pyramids of Mexico in ancient times. The album cover is truly awesome, showing a Mayan pyramid in its mystical glory with a lighted spacecraft overhead emanating a shaft of light down through the temple. This album is dedicated to the Mayan message that the Earth will be reborn in 2012, not destroyed. It seems as though ThunderBeat’s album could be a sacred ceremonial offering to honor the ancient Mayan ancestors and raise consciousness to the importance of this age we are in. An impressive and diverse album with evocative vocal work by local artist Kaleah, ethereal sounds, Native flutes, didgeridoo, and masterful drumming which guides the album’s artistic and spiritual vision, Mayan Landing 2012 marries high energy beats with worldly trance-inducing sounds of Native lore. ThunderBeat’s CD’s include: Chakra Journey, Trance Dance, One Heart, and Mayan Landing 2012.
