Thunder Creek is a Virginia-based bluegrass gospel group. Their latest recording features 14 relatively familiar pieces including "Old Country Church," "Date With An Angel," and "I'll Be No Stranger There." "Troy's Prayer" was composed by band members Troy Scarborough and David Joyner and presents a short recitation as to how the band came together. Also of interest is the band's interpretation of the Jimmie Davis classic "Supper Time," featuring original additions to the recitation portion of the song. "Back to our Roots" is regional bluegrass gospel at its finest and sure to be a blessing to the friends and followers of Thunder Creek. - BLUEGRASS UNLIMITED DECEMBER 2007

Bio
Thunder Creek is comprised of six hard working country boys that love to play music for folks that enjoy listening. Over three hundred combined years of musical experience exist with these guys. Their instrumentation and vocals have earned them a state championship and a fan base that continues to grow everywhere they go. They are a must hear group. The one thing that sets them apart from other groups is their four and five part harmonies. Their blend and range of voices is extraordinary and seems to be very appealing to all audiences. Unlike many groups, their live performances are better than their CD recordings. The energy that is present on stage excites listeners. This group started as a joke at a Sunday night gospel sing at a local church in 2003, after the performance the five members of what is now known as Thunder Creek decided they had a pretty good sound. As the years have past and Thunder Creek listened to that church recording of their first performance they wonder just what they had heard that sounded so great! Since that first fateful performance their popularity has virtually exploded. Thunder Creek started playing at churches, doing local benefits and although they still play for these venues, they have expanded to performances at county fairs, political events, festivals and most recently they opened for Tony Rice and The Marshall Tucker Band and performed for Bass Pro Shops Grand opening in Richmond, VA. They have made three recordings and are just about finished with their fourth recording. To be released summer of 2009. Radio stations from West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina, Oregon, Ohio and Kentucky are playing their music. Thunder Creek is also played on WorldWide Bluegrass.com a totally bluegrass internet radio station. By the way Thunder is for the voice of God and Creek is for bluegrass, what an awesome combination!
