After a year in stealth mode, THUNDERPUSSY, the hottest, sexiest, grooviest band in the land, is gigging again in support of their second CD, "The Slut Diaries".
After their explosive debut CD and yearlong tour, the band finally ended its "Thunderpussy Forever" show in front of an audience of 17,000 screaming fanatics at San Francisco's legendary Cow Palace Arena during the Exotic Erotic Ball. After which, Thunderpussy's mistress and lead singer Kristin Fairfield headed back to the studio to raise the stakes and take Thunderpussy into uncharted territory. The result is "The Slut Diaries", a CD that dares to take dance-pop music places where even Madonna would fear to tread.
"The reason I feel so passionate about Thunderpussy is because I know people struggle with their sexuality," Kristin says. "Thunderpussy is here to promote positive sexuality and spotlight the topics that people don't always talk about."
"The Slut Diary's", released in June of this year, has more of the band's trademark smut funk that it introduced on its first album "Thunderpussy Forever", but this CD is slightly more sophisticated in its musical message. As the album unfolds, the songs alternate with narration by Kristin , sharing her secret thoughts as she writes them in her diary. One of the most controversial parts of the CD is when she criticizes Christianity's view of sexuality:
"Dear Diary: Today I went to church. I decided to write my own prayer: Oh My God, thou who hast given me my body to give and receive pleasure like a good slut for thy service and my sexual happiness. Forgive me all my prudishness in this great slut responsibility. Forgive me for every old-maidish tendency for which I have made thy gifts in thought, word, and sexual deed wasteful."
Other lyrical highlights sure to appeal to fans old and new are "Love Your Body", "Use Your Tongue," and "I'm a Slut". The new songs fully satisfy Thunderpussy's main mission of finding the perfect
groove, questioning society, and promoting positive sexuality.
