Born to Ronnie and Ann Purifoy in Beloit, WI, Tiara’s phenomenal voice was first recognized when she was only five years old. She showed lots of confidence as she performed in her school musicals and the church choir. During her early teens, Tiara became very active in her community, singing lead in various musicals, community choirs, and gospel ensembles. In her sophomore year at Beloit Memorial High School, Tiara competed in the state’s vocal competition, taking first place in both the solo and duet categories. She has even had the honor of singing at Carnegie Hall in 1996.
Tiara was crowned Miss Beloit at the age of 17. She went on to compete in the Miss Wisconsin Pageant where she won the talent competition with her rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”. Tiara captivated the audience with her commanding presence. In 2004, Tiara’s dreams became a reality when she placed in the top 20 on “American Idol” television show.
