"Face the Sword, Walk the Plank EP Review (Clipping)"

But Mom, I Have to Save the World,” “Weebles Wobble, But We Throw Down,” and “You Can Only Get This Rash From Cannibalism,” each in their own way, unleash this hardcore adrenaline rush of fast pacing melodic noise. The music is distorted allowing the instrumentals to build up yet again crafting together a more unique vibe than at the start drawing in a closing to the EP that makes it sound a lot more upbeat and catchy. Lyrically speaking the lyrics is chosen well and speaks the truth, drawing in the attention of the listener quickly, keeping all ears upon the echoing screams and instrumentals used. Giving a combination of melodic metal with hardcore metal is a hard establishment to perform but when given in the hands of This is a Stickup! It’s all or nothing. - SilenceIsArson.com

Bio

This is a Stickup!, a unique metalcore act out of Chicago/Joliet, Illinois, was formed in 2007. After a few line-up, name, and myspace changes, the band has developed quality music as well as a great live performance. The group is composed of five members; all of whom have been actively involved in the Illinois music scene over the past five years: Brad Waite, Dennis McWherter, Zack Wroblewski, Chris Jones, and Aaron Heiy. Each member brings his own style of music to the band, as all the members came from bands with entirely different sounds of what they currently perform. With countless hours of effort, the band has found a truly unique sound in today's current music scene. Having a great hometown draw, This is a Stickup! often frequents Indiana and Wisconsin as they continue their expansion and prepare another tour with the group.

The group recently released an EP titled, "Face the Sword, Walk the Plank." The album features 5 of the band's songs recorded early in 2009. The band recently began recording their new album which they have posted 2 songs from it! The group will finish their latest EP in the first week of February 2010.

The passion among the members about their music as well as the passion of their fans keeps the band running strong and drives them to continue their music careers. After every show, This is a Stickup! stays to enjoy the company of their fans as well as anyone else who stayed to listen to their music.
