Tides & Waves is a new band from Seattle, Washington. They mix the indie-folk sound of bands like Thao & The Get Down Stay Down or Langhorne Slim & The Law with the grittier blues you might find in bands like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club or The Black Keys and just a touch of the northwest sound of bands like Built to Spill or Modest Mouse. Distorted guitars & vocals often mix with more traditional instruments like Banjos, mandolins & dobros, and it all works together to form catchy tunes that feel both new and familiar.
While the Tides & Waves is a new band, just forming in 2013, its members are veterans of the Seattle music scene, having played nearly every venue in town as well as many other places along the West Coast.
The band is currently in the process of writing and recording their debut album, and is beginning to book shows for Spring 2014.
