B-Rad has a wealth of song material in a wide variety of genres. He has played in many bands in the Vancouver,BC area for over twenty-five years and decided to try the solo route on the side to get some of his deserving songs some attention. Influenced by a wide range of genres and bands he is virtually a rock historian having delved deep into record collecting. Favorite Classics have to include Moody Blues, Yes, Gram Parsons, Grateful Dead, Harry Nilsson, Byrds, George Harrison, Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, Marley and Tosh, Hendrix and Phish.
Newer Influences include Radio Head, MGMNT, Deadmau5, STS9, Further, Tenacious D, Ghost of a Sabertooth Tiger, Bass Nectar and Sloan.
B-Rad's goal with his songs has been to unlock the inspiration within the song and layer on top of it. The songs grow to become filled with musical ideas and have to be trimmed back in many cases. He uses a time consuming editing style that creates analogue/digital hybrid drum beats. Using Midi Guitar and Soft Synths, he creates a symphonic feel that comes across psychedelic, experimental, moody and cosmic. B-Rad hopes to one day work with a real symphony on a shelved Rock Opera concept.
B-Rad is writing, playing, producing and mastering all the songs on his solo album due for release in Aug 2015. He also continues to work with other songwriters on outside projects. He does his own marketing and creates his own psychedelic visuals making him the quintessential D.I.Y. musician.
