Tierradentro

The musical group Tierradentro was formed in 1996. Since then, its musicians have researched and played Colombian music, which has taken them to over 15 countries in Europe, the Americas and Asia. Tierradentro has two musical albums in their repertoire: “Se Quiere Desbarata” and “Rumba Colombiana – Featuring Petrona Martinez” (winner of the 2008 Creation Scholarship in the city of Medellin). Tierradentro delivers to the public the joy and diversity of Afro-Colombian rhythms, drawing from a wealth of traditional instruments, looking for a mature and exquisite fusion. During 2009, they have participated in major national and international festivals like the city of Medellin’s flower festival (Feria de las Flores), Medellin’s festival of Pacific Coastal style music (FestiAfro) and the city of Cali’s musical festival (Festival Petronio Alvarez) in which they obtained the 3rd place in the free style category. In October, Tierradentro had a series of concerts at the International Festival in Tamaulipas - Mexico.
