This is a unique approach, maybe a long shot in the eyes of some, but it becomes clear upon first listen that she is more than up to facing the challenge. Brimming with a confidence that permeates every one of the soul laced, well produced tracks, the vocals vary from classic R&B singing to spoken word and rap, and the backing beats follow the same path, never stagnating on one sound long enough to let the listener lose track of the mission. Putting the in-your-face preaching aside, she instead favors a pure knowledge approach, allowing her words to speak volumes on their own. Inspired by all those who understand the power of music and intimacy, this album "keeps it real." Starting off as just a studio jam session, and through the guidance of the holy spirit, this album truly lives up to it's title. Each song exposes realities of day to day activities in which many religious organizations refuse to discuss. This album challenges notions of intimacy and ones relationship with God. Most importantly this album creates a safe space for believers to reconnect with a higher being they once knew. Those on an extended sabbatical from God can use this space as a home coming exercise. Despite its discussion and analysis of God, this album doesn't emulate past musical representations of what "gospel" music should be. Tiffani Marie combines blues, r & B, gospel, rock, and funk to express that which cannot be expressed in just words alone.
