Bio

Nashville-based Americana artist Tiffany Huggins Grant has developed a unique brand of soulful, country-leaning Americana that celebrates the struggles of everyday life. Influenced by narrative songwriters like Darrell Scott, Jason Isbell, and Patty Griffin, she’s a gifted and intimate storyteller, fusing poetic phrasing with emotionally-stirring and dynamic melodies. She’s not afraid to approach the darker side of life, using music to explore the peaks and valleys of being human-- from romantic relationships to struggles with mental health and addiction. “I write about love and death,” she says. “That’s the easy way to put it.”

Born and raised in Smyrna, Georgia, Grant trained with an opera singer in Atlanta, honing her smooth, agile vocals from a young age before teaching herself to play guitar. At 16, she was a finalist in the Georgia Music Association’s songwriting competition, and later attended the prestigious NashCamp songwriting camp in Nashville, TN. By age 17 she was performing regularly in Music City. In 2015, Grant released her first full-length album Jonquil Child, acclaimed by a wide range of music publications naming her “a bright new voice in Americana” and praising the album’s “brave and honest, dark yet ultimately hopeful” songs.

Soon after releasing her debut, Grant retreated from the spotlight for several years while battling physical and mental health issues. But she emerged from that difficult period a stronger and more determined artist, willing to face that darkness head-on and run with it. “I was sitting at a Jason Isbell concert at the Ryman in 2017, when I realized I wasn’t done with music,” she explained. “I had more. I have more to say.” She began writing music again, with help from her husband and bass player Thom Grant, mining personal experience to find new depth. Now poised to drop her second full-length, aptly titled Embers & Resin, in 2022, Grant offers a compelling mix of raw vulnerability and clear-minded poetry that’s become a signature of her work. Co-Produced with Mark Robinson, the new album transforms the familiar pain into a stunning collection of emotionally complex, fiercely graceful Americana.
