"Singer lets her faith shine through her voice"

For so long, Tiffany Savage had succeeded in letting her powerful voice blend in with the other voices of her church's choir. But one day she got a little nudge during a Sunday performance and she fearfully took center stage.

"You want me to do what?" Savage clearly remembers thinking as tears of fright began rolling down her face. Her voice stretched out across the congregation, and she explains that it was the beginning of a personal ministry and journey that has brought the soft-spoken Nolan Middle School teacher out of her shell and her new CD, "Being Confident," on iTunes.

The gospel CD is packed with soulful lyrics that are complemented with modern beats. Although Savage played a part in coming up with the lyrics ? she shared that God did most of the work for her – she just needed a nap.

"The Lord would give me a song while I was sleeping and I was notorious for not getting up and writing them down. So one day I was praying and I was like, 'Lord if you give me a song, I'll promise you I'll get up and I'll write it down,'" Savage said. "So I was praying and I had fallen asleep in the middle of the day and my daughter was right next to me napping, too. Then I just heard 'Because of You,' one of the songs on the CD. I heard the music and everything and I was like 'Oh my God.' So I woke myself up and my daughter and told her, 'Mommy's going to write this song down!'"

Savage began the practice of lifting herself out of slumber to capture all of the musical messages that God sent her. Soon she had a list of lyrics ready to minister to a generation that needs to be uplifted, she said. She never became the television news reporter she had dreamed about as a child but she's proud that she can serve God through her beautiful voice.

"Every time, before I start singing, I just pray to the Lord. 'Lord use me – use me for your glory and I put my ability aside and I rely on you to use me.' That's when the nervousness goes away and I rely on Him and the anointing of the Holy Ghost," said Savage, who attends the Destiny World Outreach Center in Killeen.

"It's really a blessing and it's almost like it's not me when I start singing," she said. "It's just the spirit of God flowing through me. It's about Him being glorified and when I took me out of it ? that's when it became a lot easier to do. But I still get nervous," Savage said with a laugh.

Yet even through the nervousness, Savage said that she is still her own worst critic, which she realized during the progress of creating the CD. It was a process that evolved a lot faster than she expected, and she said that it was all due to help from Killeen's R-RA Productions.

She produced her CD in Ruel Hawkins' professional in-home studio and with the help of the company's young producers, Hawkins said that she has a CD that "people will want to hear."

"I think her CD is great but I'm a little biased but I will say that we spent a lot of time mixing and editing it to try and make sure it was right," Hawkins said. "The music came together, the words came together and I think it turned out really good. Her message is going to get out there and this is just the beginning for her."

Savage's CD is being sold at Renaissance Records, Hastings and Fan Minnitt Arts, Gifts and Fashions.

Bio

Tiffany grew up in a small suburb town outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school, Tiffany went off to college to run track. Finding herself engulfed in the "party life" at school, Tiffany soon joined the U.S. Army in 1994 and served at Fort Hood, Texas.

In 1996, Tiffany met and married the love of her life, Ronald Savage, and six months later the two received the Lord Jesus Christ as their savior and Head of their lives. Tiffany and Ron have two beautiful children named Ronald and Anna.

Tiffany realized at an early age that she had a very strong voice. She began her ministry of singing as part of a church choir and praise team. Her husband Ron also accepted the calling on his life to preach and has ministered extensively preaching and teaching bible studies. Tiffany has ministered at several churches in song and has accepted the calling of the Lord to further advance His kingdom by writing songs that glorify His name.

Tiffany and Ron serve under the leadership of the dynamic duo, Pastors Chad and Marla Rowe at Destiny World Outreach Center in Killeen, Texas. Tiffany is truly honored to have the opportunity to share the love of God and His word through song with His people. Tiffany believes that the most important aspect of ministry is the life you live and she gives all glory to the Lord for blessing her with these songs.
