"Tiger Rising Concert Benefit"

Robert Domingos of the Ka'u School of the Arts, said, "Each musician is a virtuoso on several instruments. The sounds of the Spanish laud mixed with the cello are particularly fascinationg. The warm legato of Andy's cello, bright melodies from Stephen's guitar, and the pizzicato spice of the drums seem a perfect vehicle for creativity and "play." - The Ka'u Calendar

Bio

An accomplished musician and composer, Stephen Cline plays many instruments: acoustic and electric guitars, piano, cittern, bass, laud, lap steel, as well as singing lead and harmony vocals. Stephen has performed widely in the West and Midwest over the years in bands, duos, and solo. He has performed and recorded with such talented people as Stephan Dudash (currently of Nashville, who played with Dave Brubeck and Olivia Newton John), and recently with partner John Gates, a rising singer songwriter in Santa Barbara. In 2002, Stephen, along with partner Chuck Roehm, won a singer/songwriter competition and subsequently performed a concert produced by Vashon Allied Arts in Washington State. Stephen's style of music has reminded some listeners of such performers as Stephen Stills, Leo Kottke, and Joni Mitchell, while others comment that there is something both very contemporary and also medieval in his melodies and arrangements.

In the sixth grade Andy Rising was introduced to the cello. He practiced with a commitment to excellence, and soon proved his God given talent by winning various competitions. Over the years Andy was privileged to study with a few very talented instructors. He has performed with a number of orchestras, chamber groups and ensembles. He is a graduate from the University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of Music, with a degree in Performing Arts. His original compositions display his fine training as well as improvisational skills, and his deep sense of spirituality. Andy is also an accomplished harpist, performing on the 10 and 23 stringed harp.
