Tiger & the Rogues

Tiger & the Rogues

BandBluesRock

Tiger & the Rogues play mostly original songs influenced by the Rolling Stones & Black Keys.

With their infectious brand of blues/rock/pop, the band has already played many of Sydney's top venues including the legendary Annandale Hotel, Lizottes Dee Why and Notes Newtown.

Biography

Combining the unyielding authenticity of classic 60's Stones with the modern potency of stadium-rock giants Foo Fighters and dirty blues makers the Black Keys, Sydney-based four piece Tiger & the Rogues restore legitimacy and finesse to a genre that is often doomed to fall victim to trends.

The band is fronted by singer, songwriter and Keith Richards-devotee Lou Tiger O'Connor, who went to the crossroads, paid her dues and came back with a pocketful of songs.

With Amos Branch on lead guitar, Ed Pearson on drums and Nathan Clinen on bass, the band make no apologies for doing what they do best. In a relatively small amount of time they have honed their signature brand of blues rock pop into an explosion of beat-generation energy and classic vibe, guaranteed to command even the most resilient punter to their feet.

Waiting for You

Waiting for You

VERSE 1:
I said, please don’t leave me hanging on like a thread/ cause you know, like a hangman, I’m bound to end up dead/ I said please, I am begging on my knees, come home to my/ empty, desolate, vast expanse of a bed,

VERSE 2:
I tried calling you baby you never pick up your goddamn phone/ are you deliberately avoiding me leaving me all alone/ as I sit in this house that’s not a home/ as I wait for you

CHORUS:
I’m waiting, just waiting, just waiting for you/ I am calling, I am calling out, calling out to you/ I am needing, I am wanting, I am wishing for you/ I am waiting, just waiting, just waiting for you

VERSE 3:
Silence on your end I don’t know what to do/ you never told me what was wrong with you/ all that comes out of your mouth you and I both know it’s untrue/ but all this anger and hate you just can’t see through

CHORUS:
I’m waiting, just waiting, just waiting for you/ I am calling, I am calling out, calling out to you/ I am needing, I am wanting, I am wishing for you/ I am waiting, just waiting, just waiting for you

VERSE 4:
Is this the end of you and me/ I always knew some of our actions would bring this to its knees/ you should have called me told me you love me every day/ I could’ve changed some of the things I say

CHORUS:
I’m waiting, just waiting, just waiting for you/ I am calling, I am calling out, calling out to you/ I am needing, I am wanting, I am wishing for you/ I am waiting, just waiting, just waiting for you

The Fairlanes

Written By: L T O'Connor

Verse 1:
I wake up in the morning and look at the sky/ it’s all red and orange and the sun just keeps getting high/ I know exactly what I wanna do today/ and the Fairlanes are just a mile away

Chorus:
On the Fairlanes/ we’re gonna have some fun/ on the Fairlanes/ why won’t you come

Verse 2:
Go where you want do what you like/ no one’s gonna give a damn/ no one’ll care, no one’ll mind/ when you’re this far down the line

Verse 3:
Shotgun weddings on the run/ take some time off out in the sun/ be a fugitive buy a gun/ it’s all been seen and it’s all been done

In My Car

Written By: L T O'Connor

Verse 1
The nights are warming up and I want somebody here to take me for a drive/I quit my job so we no longer have to wait till I’m out at five/I want a two lane blacktop and a car with no roof; four wheels is a work of art/come on baby let’s not stick around, why don’t you jump start my heart.

Chorus
How about we go riding around in my car/stop along the way in however many bars/just go riding around in my car/no one’s going to tell us we can’t take this far/riding round in my car/to all those back home we’ll just say au revoir/we’ll just go riding round in my car/ no one’s going to tell us we can’t take this far, oh no no no

Verse 2
Wherever we go doesn’t matter to me as long as it’s on the way/With a bennet you can land a helicopter on there’s no better way to spend my day/I got a full tank of gas and enough cassettes to last me for a while/and if you don’t get in I’ll leave you in my dust cause I’m a highway child.

You're Alright

Written By: L T O'Connor

Verse 1
Open the curtains and the sun shines in on me/ I know it’s just another day where I just get to be happy

Chorus
Cause you’re alright/ I said baby you’re alright/ and I’m not just talking about the middle of the night/ I said baby you’re alright

Verse 2
Not a day goes by when I don’t wanna be right next to you/ and I can’t hide the fact that I wanna be by your side all day and all of every night

Chorus
Cause you’re alright/ I said baby you’re alright/ and I’m not just talking about the middle of the night/ I said baby you’re alright

Verse 3
I’m not gonna take your one million dollars/ and I’m gonna shred up all those rare flowers/ cause baby if you don’t come home to me right now/ tell me how I’m gonna live, tell me how

Chorus
Cause you’re alright/ I said baby you’re alright/ and I’m not just talking about the middle of the night/ I said baby you’re alright

Trouble Maker

Written By: L T O'Connor

VERSE 1:
I’m gonna follow your tracks like a bloodhound/not gonna make a sound/you’ll never know when I’m close behind/you always gotta look around

PRE-CHORUS:
I’m gonna find you trouble maker/I’m gonna hunt you down/I’m gonna find you trouble maker/just don’t leave town

CHORUS:
I’m gonna tie you up and close your eyes and spin you around, you’re never gonna know which way is up or down/ I’ll steal your words and throw them in your face just to put you right back in your place/ and if you should learn of my plans in advance, it’ll give your nightmares a chance/believe me when I say no one’ll trust a traitor but you’re just my little trouble maker

VERSE 2:
You gotta blacklist the size of a bible/ always feel the need to lie/ you’re only two steps away from the jailhouse/ take one last look at the sky

VERSE 3:
You hide yourself in the shadows/ you don’t let no one see/ but the only one who sees right through you is/ little old me

VERSE 4:
Go ahead why don’t you try running/ see how far you go/ you might get away from everyone you see/ but damn, I’m still gonna know

Just in Time for Valentines

Written By: Lou Tiger O'Connor

I gotta say I didn't spot you at first
You're pretty good looking, I've seen much worse
It's been so long I thought I was cursed
But I know I'm ready to jump in head first.

I don't really know you but one thing's for sure,
we're gonna have a real good time.
Take my hand and there'll be so much more.
You're just in time for Valentine's

Talking quietly down the back.
You've got a nice smile, I'll give you that.
And your jeans are good and tight and jet black,
God, I think I'm having a heart attack.

I don't really know you but one thing's for sure,
we're gonna have a real good time.
Take my hand and there'll be so much more.
You're just in time for Valentine's

If I had to talk about you in the witness stand,
my heart would start marching like a big brass band.
And I know I'm lucky when I hear the doorbell and,
see you standing there with a bunch of roses in your hand.
