BandRockPop

Two-piece indie rock band inspired by bands at least twice their size. We're not necessarily talking about body size, but we're not not-talking about that either. Drums, loops, good old fashioned rock belting, a little soul and a lotta heart. We're serious about having a good sense of humor. Thanks

Biography

We don't belong here.

It's the hoariest reason for why anyone would be a rock 'n' roller, but if it's true, then it's true. Howard and Eugene, two Midwesterners, met somewhere in Midtown at a soul-sucking corporate job. One black and one Asian-American, we didn't exactly fit the mold. For the job or for being rockers.

Eugene's grew up pretty hip-hop. Howard lived for hard rock and heavy metal. Luckily, our tastes evolved beyond those initial stirrings. I set aside Van Halen for the songcraft and bacon-fry distortion of the Jesus and Mary Chain and the Pixies. He loves Radiohead (as well as Q and Not U) more than a lot of white people. Sorry, but it's true.

We like Death from Above 1979, Prince, and the Black Keys. We may not sound anything like them, but we got mad respect for them.

We've just released our first ep - Tigerwood. We recorded it with Grammy award-winning producer Matt Shane, who we met while he recorded us for a Converse Rubber Tracks session. It's now available on iTunes, Spotify and the like. We're gearing up for a 2013 physical release of the ep... on cassingle! New tunes are being written and videos are being edited. Keep an eye/ear out?
