From the beautiful „Mountain State” West Virginia we received a very interesting and miscellaneous CD by the band Tilhance founded in January 2001 and named after the river Tilhance Creek in West Virginia. In the spring of 2002 they signed a contract with Comstock Records publishing their first album “Every Other Sunday”. On this cd there’s really something for everyone on it. A remarkable mixture of Newgrass, Rock and Westcoast Sound will impress you. There are even acoustic-musical elements mixed up with rockin’ sounds, nearly not comparible with any other band. If you’re now interested to now more about Tilhance, just have a trip to their homepage, where you can listens to songs like “Tilhance Creek”, “September” or the nice two-step “The Gandy Dancers. Maybe you like to order a cd, it’s really something special - CSR

Bio
Growing up in the eastern Panhandle of West Virginia childhood friends, Mike Unger and Ray Jones quickly grew to love the sound of the acoustic guitar.
Influenced by the likes of America, Bread and the acoustic rockabilly blues artists they began songwriting in the late 70’s. Previously touring extensively with the highly successful group ‘Rivers Edge’ the duo along with members Terry Metz, Sam Stilwell, crafted their skills on the road performing 3 consecutive years at the prestigious ‘Ellipse’ at the White House in Wash D.C., Willie Nelson’s nationally recognized ‘Farmaid’ and in the studio releasing 2 cd’s, one under the production of Grammy Award winner Larry Butler. In search of a new sound ‘Tilhance’ was formed.
The members returned to the studio writing and producing their current ‘CD’ ‘Every Other Sunday’ which was released to Europe in 2003 under the Comstock Records label, receiving airplay in 12 European countries 'including a #1 on a Holland chart' as well as the United States. Striving to get away from the big production and back to the acoustic foundation, these two songwriters bring you the songs and the stories behind the songs from their first 2 cd’s, the current release and brand new not yet released material. With one foot in yesterday’s country/rock sound and the other in today’s Americana market, an evening with Tilhance surely will have something for everyone to enjoy. Tilhance is proud to announce that they have recently performed at the highly regarded ‘New Music Conference’ in Nashville Tn.
