Tim Adams


Percussionist, Tim Adams, is a Concert Artist and Educator of the highest caliber. From Classical, to Jazz, to R&B, and experimental sounds all his own, Tim Adams is pushing the boundaries of percussion instruments and bringing them to the forefront of his audience's musical experience.

• Premiered percussion concerto, The Healer, with the Knoxville Symphony, written by Lucas Richman.
• Solo performances with Atlanta Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Florida Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony, Knoxville Symphony, and Asheville Symphony
• Recorded with Cleveland Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra
• Guest lecturer at the University of Chile, International Percussion Festival in Puerto Rico, International Percussion Festival in Patagonia, Percussion School of Madrid and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention/USA
• Active in education and outreach activities such as Pennsylvania Day of Percussion, Brevard Music Center in North Carolina and teaches master classes and plays recitals both in this country and abroad.
• Played on the soundtrack of The Caveman’s Valentine starring Samuel L. Jackson. Score written by Grammy nominated jazz trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard.
• Endorsed by Regal Tip Stick Company, Zildjan Cymbals, Evans Drum Heads (product design consultant), Mike Balter Mallets, and Pearl/Adams Percussion
• Played under the direction of Leonard Bernstein, Kurt Masur, Seiji Ozawa, Elliot Carter and Leon Fleisher
• BFA and MA from Cleveland Institute of Music
• Recorded with the rock band, “Exotic Birds”

• April '07 Release of solo CD, “Images of My Spirit” on indie label KMPDsound
• Booking and performing solo recitals featuring original compositions including, Katrina: The Soul of the People, Rhythm Song: A Diary of War, and Journeys with special guest vocalist, Kristina Lanuza
