"Ainslie's Vibes - CD Review"

’You play some cool guitar-driven blues rock, I like it. Your songs are well crafted and guitar pyrotechnics always work in favour of the songs, never against them. Again, trio format has a lot to offer!’
Przemek Draheim, Radio Sfera, Torun, Poland.

"Ainslie's Vibes Launch Mini Album"

Ipswich guitarist Tim Ainslie is stepping into the spotlight for the release of a 5 track CD. Tim has been a leading light on the blues scene for well over 2 decades, half of those years being spent in the excellent Groove Doctors. Tim made his mark in funky blues outfit Swagger and when that band folded linked up with John Butters, Fergie Fulton and Luke Arnold to replace Simon 'Zippy' Nicholson in Groove Doctors. The trademark Ainslie guitar style gave the Groovies a new dimension and he's carried that sound into his latest project Ainslie's Vibes. The mini album was recorded at Roger Cotton's Roundel studios in December last year and takes its title from Aussie Kier Nuttall's song The People Have Spoken. Originally recorded by a band called Transport it's a track dear to Tim's heart and sets the scene for much of what follows. This CD marks Tims first outing as a singer and he sounds remarkably comfortable in front of the microphone. There's a clarity and diction to his voice often missing in the blues world but first and foremost he's a guitarist and a mighty fine one at that. His band mates Roy Little on bass and Alex Best on drums provide the sort of bed rock any great guitarist needs to best show off his skills. With them stoking the fire in the engine room Tim can get down to the business of bringing the best out of the material much of which is his own. It's impossible to pigeon-hole Ainslie's Vibes. They will of course appeal to a blues audience but they are not a blues trio. They are all top notch musicians who are clearly enjoying working together. Long may they run. Ainslie's Vibes are launching their mini album on April 25th at The Steamboat Tavern, Ipswich on Sunday 25th April and on the week leading upto that will be in Session on my Drivetime show. - East Anglian Daily Times
