"New fresh contemporary jazz"

Tim Chokan Quartet Collection #1
author: Michelle Lazark
This is a "kick your shoes off and put your feet up" easy listening CD. Tim Chokan is very talented and is in the same vein of some of the jazz greats. I highly recommend this CD.

Bio

Track one entitled "Where I Want to be" starts off this CD with a funky groove under a trumpet melody that will surely get your feet moving if not make you get on the dance floor with some funk jazz. "Fly With Me Baby" is up second and should keep your feet moving with a fresh Harmond muted trumpet lead that it ever so jazzy. Slowing things up a bit is song three, "You are the One" which is just beautiful, fresh, and smooth. Batting clean-up is "145 Blues Funk Strut" a song for all you funkheads, dancers, DJ's, Madona, and anyone else in search on the next level of funk. Featuring a special guest, Kevin Chokan leads off this fourth track with some rockin' guitar. I challenge any and all DJ's around the world to spin this song on any dance club and watch the people go crazy. This track will blow you head off. You ca relax on the fifth tune, "Atlalnta Ga Elements", an alluring ballad with trumpet over lush orchestra strings. A great tune to hold someone nice and close. Song Number six we're keeping you close together with "They are There". Mellow but always groovin', this tune is good to play for the one that is there for you. Track seven is picking up the groove a little with a classic smooth jazz piece inspired by all the pretty ladies out there entitled "URA Woman". Umm umm good. Bringing back the Harmond mute on song eight, "Hey Sexy" is a jazz dande tune that will get your boby moving and make you feel good. Track nine is "Bolero Dancer", a song about a beautiful young girl dancing in the moonlight in a bolero jacket. Getting back to the groove is track ten, "B Side Bounce". A smooth jazz bounce with John Warren grabing some tasty notes on guitar. Number eleven is the inspired "Leone's Song", another cool ballad to get you close together once more before the night is out. And last but certainly not least is "Half Past Midnight", which closes out this original colection of smooth jazz with a groove that is not too fast and not too slow and very funky. All in all you're gonna love this disc. A musical journey that will get people up, smooth people out, and bring people close.
