"What Are People Saying?"

Tim Dillinger is one of those rare artists that really cares about each note that comes out of his mouth. Dillinger has a wondrous instrument filled with longing, passion and tenderness, and even in his joyous moments there is unabashed sincerity. Hopefully, his audience will expand and people will be once again enthralled by this great talent that has been hidden for so long
—Damon Percy, Nu-Soul Magazine

Tim Dillinger is a voice for all seasons. He’s contemporary in his craft and committed in his conviction for Christ. He is a breath of fresh air in that he’s singing for the Lord and not for hits or hype. I know that is work is destined because it is ordained and that the world—black, white, young and old—is about to find out what I already know. THIS MAN CAN SANG!--Elder Kevin E. Taylor, UFCM, Inc.
Pastor, Unity Fellowship Church, New Brunswick, NJ

I am proud to have championed this amazing singer/songwriter from jump with his self-release debut. Tim mixes themes of spiritual faith and soul searching into an inspired pastiche of song. At his disposal are a powerful tenor voice and a falsetto that’s as penetrating as a telescope with 10,000x magnification--A. Scott Galloway, Urban Network Magazine

The way in which Tim utilizes music to convey his message is incredible! He is to be commended for being a light in the darkness—Spirit, Motivational Speaker, Editor-in-Chief of Krave Magazine

Bio

Growing up as a “preacher’s kid” in St. Petersburg, Florida, he was reared on the sounds of gospel music. Gospel greats Andraé Crouch, The Hawkins Family and Reba Rambo were the earliest influences, while contemporary Christian artists such as Amy Grant, Randy Stonehill and Leslie Phillips would become equally influential. The blend of these two very different forms of Christian music would take Tim on his own spiritual journey.

At the age of thirteen, Tim began singing in churches in the Tampa Bay area and was introduced to New Covenant Holiness Church, a congregation firmly rooted in the tradition of the black church. By the age of fifteen, Tim was immersed in the culture not only of the church, but also of the community.

Under the tutelage of his singing godmother, Tim continued singing in countless churches in the area, honing his craft as a vocalist, developing a reputation as a “church wrecker”. She schooled him on the golden era of gospel music and he absorbed the music of The Caravans, The Davis Sisters and Professor Alex Bradford. He was a rarity in the community: a white vocalist who could deliver traditional black gospel with an astounding conviction and authenticity.

From the age of 18 to 22, Tim traveled the state of Florida singing at revivals with Grammy Award nominated gospel artist Beverly Crawford, in addition to continuing to work in local churches as a worship leader in his Tampa Bay base. He relocated to Nashville to continue his work in music ministry in 2001. After working in several local congregations, Tim launched his career as a solo artist.

Tim became a part of the independent soul scene, releasing two critically acclaimed albums, Love Is On My Mind (2004) and The Muse (2006). Through these albums, he earned a #1 single on London’s Jazz FM, nominations from the Southern Entertainment Awards, SoulTracks.com’s Annual Readers Choice Awards, Nashville’s All The Rage Annual Music Awards and was the recipient of the 2007 SOBO Magazine Music Award, as well as an Agape Indie Artist Award. His music has also been lauded internationally by Urban Network Magazine, Blues & Soul Magazine and Colorlines Magazine in addition to every press outlet in Nashville.

Tim has had the opportunity to record and/or perform with legendary artists including Grammy and Dove Award winning gospel legend, Daryl Coley, Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Reba Rambo-McGuire and soul scene notables including Frank McComb and Kloud 9. He has also worked with Academy Award and Grammy nominated artist Táta Vega.

While his last release, The Muse, brought him the greatest success of his career thus far, Tim made the decision to return to his roots and record his first gospel project, Dawning of a New Day, slated for a Summer 2009 release.

Recorded live in Nashville, ‘Dawning’ celebrates the rich heritage of the gospel music of his childhood, as well as a message embracing the all-encompassing love of Jesus Christ.

“This album represents my heart. Rather than focusing on our differences, my heart’s desire is that we find that common thread that ties us together with our brothers and sisters in humanity. It is my prayer that this album serves as a unifier for the body of Christ. The greatest joy is sharing this music and allowing Holy Spirit to simply be. In that place, hearts are mended and lives are changed.”

Tim is currently booking dates at congregations around the country and is available for concerts, praise and worship gatherings and conferences.
