Biography

In a fast paced society screaming to sell your soul to commercialism, to surrender passion for financial stability and to trade your bodies for happiness, Time of Favor is shouting a different melody. We are passionate about showing Christ to a generation starved of hope and desperately seeking purpose. The idea that life is more than the "American Dream."

"Hi friends. Thanks for checking out Time of Favor. My name is Sean. I sing and play guitar in a christian band with some of my best friends in the world: Kyle Kicker (drums), Andrew Jones (bass), and Dale Burnett (Lead guitar/ vocals). We all grew up leading worship in southwest MO."

Since it’s conception in 2001, Favor has led their own evolution of modern melodic rock, straying far from burnout fads. With passionate and thought provoking lyrics and innovative musical concepts, TOF remains approachable for the listener.

“I’ve often been asked to classify TOF into a genre. But I have trouble getting very specific, and that’s how I like it. Probably because we don’t follow fads, and we don’t “try” to sound like anything. We don’t write music for the scene. We just write music from the bottom of our hearts” explains Lea.

In 2005 Favor picked up momentum with it’s sophomore release “Something Profound,” which hit the stands the day of their high school graduation. The release of a full length original album at such a young age quickly garnered the attention of industry professionals. One of these being the multi-platinum producer, Malcolm Springer (Matchbox 20, Faith Hill, Collective soul). Springer helped produce and arrange a portion of the tracks on their 2007 release “Cannonballs and Whispers,” but more importantly, he was a friend and mentor to the group as they ventured into the unforgiving trenches of the music industry. Between the talents of Malcolm and the mastering genius of Paul Salvenson (Mercy Me, Rebecca St.James) the release of thier third full length “Cannonballs and Whispers” (2007) catapulted Favor’s career into overdrive. TOF began touring full time, yet remained independent from the support of any record label. Having their roots as worship leaders, Time of Favor is also capable and passionate about leading worship, bringing every element of musical production to your event.

Time of Favor travels with their own sound, intelligent light show and power distribution unit, allowing you to turn any facility with a stage and a dual phase 70 amp breaker into a full on concert production experience.

Picking Fights With Giants

Written By: Sean Lea

another day, another chance to live my life.
I just want to breathe in deep. I just want to feel alive.
Bloody knuckles and black eyes are all part of the game.
Well maybe I don’t look so good, but at least they don’t call me tame.
God chose the weak to shame the strong, the small to shame the overgrown.
I’ve been picking fights with giants since the day that I was born

I’ve got Armageddon bagged, It’s the countdown I can’t take.
What’s a loser do with himself until the day the whole world breaks? Well I’ve got a plan, I’ve got a solution to it all.
While the whole world’s chasing dust, I’m going to chase after my God.

What are you going to do with yourself when the clock is running down?
Don’t hang your passion on the shelf. Oh this world is going to let you down.
What are you going to do with yourself when redemption’s calling out? He’s more than all this worldly wealth. He’s never going to let you down.

What are we so afraid of now?

God chose the weak to shame the strong. The small to shame the overgrown.
I’ll be picking fights with giants until the day that I’m called home.
