Bio

Times are four Gentlemen that hail from the Big Smoke who inevitably get their hands very, very dirty working for what they want. Their first EP titled 'Better' includes 5 songs worth listening to whether one is a musical connoisseur on the prowl or just someone looking for their daily fix of great new music. Opening track "Cuckoo's Nest' quickly tears through with haunting lead guitar lines and vintage synths that give a direct nod to the 80's. Meanwhile title track 'Better' provides listeners with an elegant vocal melody that floats atop a dusty, driving string orchestra. On the record as a whole the drumming is simple and sophisticated while the bass thinks outside the box; providing rhythms to rock your head to but keep you on your toes.

Being involved in the thriving music scene of Toronto means that Times have shared countless stages with countless bands. In order to stand out, however, bands have to work hard. When Times were scheduled to play a special live performance at Much Music the line up was down the block of fans who wanted to hear new material. This performance gained them a nod for having brought out a larger crowd than any other unsigned artist to date. With this solid notch in their belt Times were invited to take the stage at the renowned Yonge and Dundas Square two separate times; performing to crowds of around 400 people on both occasions.

After receiving waves of positive feedback Times decided to put out an official EP. With the help of a few good friends and endless hours of perfecting every piece in their catalogue 5 songs were chosen for the EP. They headed in to the studio for long days and longer nights because like all independent artists know: time is money when it comes to recording.  A large amount of behind the scenes footage is documented in their video blogs. Thousands of cups of herbal tea, late night games of pool, takes and mistakes, and electrical failure caused by a hurricane were all a part of the experience that make 'Better' a genuine and unique record.

The four members of Times; Alexander Yolevski, Paul Doherty, Adam Dwyer, and Matthew Winkler are ready to take their sound to new levels. With an already action packed live show and plans to have their EP available on iTunes and at concerts it's a sure thing that Times are an experience not to be missed.
