One of the Pacific Northwest's leading ballad singers, Tim Jenkins has been singing as long as he can remember and has been performing folk music for over forty years. He has a vast repertoire of songs, reflecting his Scottish, English, Appalachian, and New England roots and his places of residence including the Pacific Northwest, Northern New York state, Texas, California, and the Caribbean. He currently lives in Creswell, Oregon and is a Senior Instructor in the Physics Department of the University of Oregon in Eugene.

In recent years Tim has been particularly interested in ballads--songs that tell stories, and gives ballad workshops at conferences and festivals. He also loves children's literature and has an extensive collection of picture books that illustrate folk songs. He has developed a program that he performs without charge for schools and libraries in which he plays and sings the song while a helper turns the pages in the book.
