Bio

My name is Timothy James Lynch. I have been playing guitar for 5 1/2 years now. I own around 11 somewhat guitars, a Jazz Bass, a keyboard and a drum set that’s been left at my house over a year from an ex band I played in. I love playing Jazz, RNB, Rock, and Spanish music on my guitar. I've studied a lot of Jazz music this year which I include in my repertoire now. You can find my music on www.timlynchmusic.webs.com or www.myspace.com/timlynchmusic101

On December 12th 2008, I released an alternative rock album with 8 tracks with me playing guitars and bass. During the winter of 2009 in my junior year, I started jamming with my neighbor next-door Mark. We played Hard Rock/Metal music. We had a 3 track demo as well. You can find us on www.myspace.com/evilglorymusic. The winter-of 08-09, which was my junior year in High School, I spent a lot of time studying music theory. At one point, it was all I did and the routine seemed to follow into my senior year.

In the summer of 2009 I also recorded a 16 track Hip Hop demo tape for fun because I was getting tired of my instrument. It made me a better songwriter and musician in the long run.
For performance lessons during the hot summer, my private instructor taught me a lot about Jazz composition, scales and improvisation. Each lesson, we would just play tunes from THE REAL BOOK, work on ear training, sight singing/sight-reading, improvisation and analyzing tunes, including inventions/chorales by J.S. Bach.

Senior year, I took AP Music Theory and it was a great fun course for me. From June 2009 up to the present, I’ve composed over 10 pieces of music. I even wrote a sextet concert band piece for Piano, Flute, Violin, Clarinet, Oboe and Cello.

During my 4 years in High School. I was in the concert band 4 full years, Marching band 1 year and Jazz band 1 year and I’ve performed at talent shows and in the coffee house at my high school. For the class of 2010 at Coyle and Cassidy High School, I won the superlative of Male Class Musician. This year, I auditioned for Jazz Districts for SEMMEA, Berklee College of Music for performance, Longy School of Music for composition, New England Conservatory for composition and Rhode Island College of Music for music education. I was accepted into the RIC’s music dept. Due to a lower GPA and low SAT scores, I was not accepted into either of the schools mentioned above.

The next year, I’ve decided to make best decision for my future and attend a community college for one year and transfer. When I go to UMass Lowell for the Fall Semester of 2011, I am going to set fourth my journey in my musical career where I hope to become either a Music Educator at a High School or College level or be a performing artist. At this time, I'm currently playing bass in a punk rock band called "A. Tornado." You can find us on Atornado.com or at www.myspace.com/atornado. We hope to be playing a show soon. This is the end of my music bio. Thank you for coming out to the Blues and BBQ. Hope you enjoy the show!!!
