Tim McMillan (Australien) ist für über eine Dekade als Gitarrist aufgetreten, sowohl in Bands als auch als Solist. Seine Musik ist von Folk, Klassik, Latin Jazz, Flamenco und Blues Gitarre beeinflusst und sein derzeitiges Live Repertoire besteht aus einem eklektischen Gemisch aus Gitarrenmusik begleitet von Dave Bennett (Bass Gitarre, Keys und Backing Vocals) und John Lewis (Schlagzeug). Seine lebendige Auftritte, sein Sinn für Humor und seine Fähigkeit das Publikum zu engagieren haben ihn zu einem beliebten Live Künstler in der Melbourner Musik-Szene gemacht. Tim hat ein abgeschlossenes Musikstudium (Jazz Gitarre) an der Monash Universität in Victoria (Australien) hinter sich (2000). Seitdem arbeitet er als Musiklehrer, Komponist und vortragender Künstler. Seit kurzem konzentriert sich Tim auf eine Karriere als Solo-Gitarrist und gab Solo-Konzerte in Ecuador, Costa Rica und Indien. In Spätsommer 2006 ging er für fünf Monate als Gitarrist für die Folk-Pop Gruppe ‘Naked Raven’ auf eine Tour in Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz und Belgien. In dieser Zeit gab er auch 30 Solo shows in Deutschland. Tim beabsichtigt in den nächsten Jahren in Australien und Deutschland ausgiebig auf Tour zu gehen. Tim has performed as a guitarist/singer for over a decade, both with bands and as a solo act.
With a healthy influence of Folk, Classical, Latin Jazz, Flamenco and Blues Guitar, his current live repertoire consists of an eclectic mix of guitar based music also including live sampling, foot percussion, storytelling and song.
The style has been described as a mixture of Nick Drake, Tommy Emmanuel, Muse and Pink Floyd.
Tim completed his Bachelor of Music (Jazz guitar) at Monash University, Victoria in 2000.
Since this time he has worked as a classroom music teacher, composer and session musician.
Most recently Tim has been focusing on his solo career, he has performed solo shows in Ecuador, Costa Rica and India.
In late 2006 he toured Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium for five months as guitarist for folk group ‘Naked Raven’, during this time he also performed 30 solo shows throughout Germany.
Tim has recently released his debut LP ‘Afterparty’ through T3 records (Europe) and independently within Australia and plans to tour extensively throughout Australia and Germany in the coming years.
