Biography

The Rock-n-Roll Circus is Back in Town.

Tim Menard and the Flying Nowakowski Brothers have been rocking the Chicagoland area since 2003. Yes, they're really brothers, and some say they've seen them fly. From local bars to nationally known clubs, college campuses to festivals, the Chicago Marathon to Wrigley Field, these guys have energized audiences with their unique sound and acrobatic musicianship.

Stylistically, their music has been compared to U2, Steve Earle, and REM.

Before their circus days, the band members performed in groups such as Ballads and Balderdash, CopperMinds, Crybaby, Brementown, Dogs Undecided, John Kimler, Fallen Angels, Lou Ryder Band, The Owls, Dreaming of Hands, and Thomas Pace.

Tim, Devin, Sean, and Aaron have also logged many hours of studio time, recording for a vast array of artists. They are currently involved in the creation of a John Prine tribute album being produced at Strobe Recording in Chicago.

So if you're looking for a band that can really rock the big tent, bring on Tim Menard and the Flying Nowakowski Brothers.

Lyrics

Smoke

Written By: Tim Menard

Smoke it is risin', as you lie in a dream,
Alarm ringing higher, as you sink in the stream,
You read all the papers, try not to lose,
Alone like a stranger, in a crowd that you choose,
In a crowd that you choose,

The days just get shorter, and the drinks never end,
Your pocket winds tighter, round your throat once again,
Then you just laugh, then you just cry,
Slip out the door, without sayin' goodbye,
Without sayin' goodbye,

You walk down the alleys, tryin' to hide,
From all of the helpless, feelings inside,
Wanting forgivness, for all of your lies,
Too soon to give up, too late to try,
It's too late to try,

Bridge:
You think of your mother,
You think of your son,
You think of the things,
That you haven't done,
You think of your future,
And you think of your past,
You think of the love,
That you thought would last,

You stare at the darkness, and you wait for the dawn,
Your soul it is empty, your innocence gone,
Smoke it is risin', as you lie in a dream,
Alarm ringing higher, as you slip in the stream,
As you slip in the stream,

Tied To The Stone

Written By: Tim Menard

Dreams when I was young, with the moon a silver light,
Would make me see, what could be,
As I grew wings and took flight,

Chorus: Now I feel like an angel with broken wings,
Tied to the stone,
How did I end up so far from home,
Like an angel left on his own,

High above the clouds, I couldn't really see,
The earth below, what it show,
All the possibilties,

Chorus: Now I feel like an angel with broken wings,
Tied to the stone,
How did I end up so far from home,
Like an angel left on his own,

Bridge: Singing to the sea, standing by the shore,
Chained without a key, here forever more,

Then the sky grew dark, as I came down to land,
I crashed and burned, the world had turned,
I seemed to miss the mark,

Chorus: Now I feel like an angel with broken wings,
Tied to the stone,
How did I end up so far from home,
Like an angel left on his own,
