Timothy Knipper


Versatile cello player, with extensive improv and studio experience (jazz, folk, hip-hop). Studied film scoring & conducting @ Berklee, comfortable arranging and composing in any style.


Classically trained at Westminster Conservatory in Princeton, NJ. Completed Berklee with a BA in music business, playing for the Jazz-Hop Ensemble and the Joni Mitchel Ensemble.

At Berklee, I produced two compilation albums of holiday music to raise money for inner city after school music programs.

Influences are primarily classical and hip-hop: Bach, 2Pac, Ravel, Biggie, Mozart, Jay-Z, Sibelius, Tribe Called Quest, Tchaikovsky , Talib Kweli, Mos Def, the Roots, Sibelius, DJ Logic, Lifted, Gershwin, Ellington, OutKast, Satie, Debussy, Beethoven, Dr. Dre.
