Timothy O'Donovan

BandRockSinger/Songwriter

Biography

From the sun and swamp of the Florida Panhandle, ... to the concrete and rush of Atlanta, Timothy O’Donovan is emerging as a singer/ song writing force to be reckoned with. In Georgia for only a year, Tim’s years of hard work in the honky tonks of the rural south, festival stages, and live radio broadcasts have culminated in a unique style that is creating quite a buzz in and around the Atlanta metro area.
Armed with a gritty, emotionally taunt vocal style, and in possession of an already impressive and ever growing cannon of original songs, Tim has drawn comparison’s to early Bruce Springsteen, Paul Westerberg, and country great Waylon Jennings.
Simple, catchy melodies married to a flair for personal storytelling, his music is at once both vast and un-complicated. Tales of darkness and redemption, sorrow and hell raising, delivered with a uniquely southern and often firery presentation. Destined to one day take his place at the mantle of other great American storytellers before him, Timothy’s show is not to be missed.
Timothy’s first full length CD “ My Life “ is set for release in late 2007.

Lyrics

Over The Moon

Written By: Timothy O'Donovan

I found havoc to cry
for my empty head
got a sweat soaked conscience
on a guilty bed
doctor said I should get more rest
but what does he really know

a plan in dust
is a rusty wrench
and nothing’s ever gone right since
I first smelled you
on my shirt
I’ve gone over the moon
and into the dirt

You’ve been kicking around
this one horse town
looking for a savior
who ain’t around
so you picked me up
and you put me down
but what do you really know

a plan in dust
is a rusty wrench
and nothing’s ever gone right since
I first smelled you
on my shirt
I’ve gone over the moon
and into the dirt

I lost the keys to the highway
I tossed the keys to my town
I’m gonna leave the keys to your heart
lying on the bed
when I burn this house down

I found havoc to cry
for my empty head
got a sweat soaked conscience
on a guilty bed
doctor said I should get more rest
but what does he really know

a plan in dust
is a rusty wrench
and nothing’s ever gone right since
I first smelled you
on my shirt
I’ve gone over the moon
and into the dirt

Poor Man's Ruin

Written By: Timothy O'Donovan

Jacob was a close friend of mine
fell on unfortunate times
soon the wolf crept to his door
and he never comes around no more
brother what you doing
in the company of poor man’s ruin

Monique can’t sing cause her lungs are filled
with rust that used to be an iron will
she takes rides in the country
and don’t come home for days
looking for something that she gave away
sister what you doing
in the company of poor man’s ruin

You can blame God
you can implement hell
you can point to me
but you’ll have to look inside yourself

now life is a weight tied around my leg
come the night I can hear the wolf beg
I can almost feel the rust as my will is giving way
soon I may hear the ghosts of other victims say
brother what you doing
in the company of poor man’s ruin

Anglina Jolie

Written By: Timothy O'Donovan

Saw you on the evening news
down on Rodeo drive
you were sparring with the paparazzi
trying to keep your love alive

When you gonna see
the only one for you is me
Angelina Jolie

Heard a bad boy broke your heart
like bad boys often do
but just be aware of that pretty boy
you are fooling with baby
pretty boys will break you too

When you gonna see
the only one for you is me
Angelina Jolie

I heard that you ran wild once
do you wish you were wild again
at a place just south of heaven baby
and just this side of sin

I saw you on the evening news
you had a baby in your arms
don’t believe what those people try to tell you
I don’t mean you any harm

When you gonna see
the only one for you is me
Angelina Jolie

Hello Fate

Written By: Timothy O'Donovan

Hello Fate
I’m still waiting on you
this calls been traced
and there’s not a moment left to lose
the only evidence they’ll say
that I ever came this way
will be my prints inside a phone booth
and allegations they can’t prove
hello fate I’m waiting on you

Hello fate
I thought we had a deal
my security I’d trade
for a reckless stab
at something I can feel
the only evidence they’ll find
beyond the wrinkle in my time
in which I slipped out through
would be some skid marks out on the pavement
oh come on fate I’m waiting on you

Hello fate
I’m still waiting on you
