Tim Pratt quartet

Bandleader,arranger,and drummer Tim Pratt began the idea of blending contemporary christian music into traditional jazz music as a youngman in highschool. Completing his education in jazz studies at Virginia Commonwealth University.Tim developed his idea on the road learning and being influenced by jazz artists such as,Barry Harris, Miles Davis, Brandford Marsalis, Larry Coryell,Jimmy Cobb, Tony Williams and Roy Haynes to name a few. The marrying of the christian and jazz genres makes The Tim Pratt Quartet unique. This is because of the lack of a opportunity for traditional jazz music to be played in the christian community. Also, the audiences are exposed to a new kind of music they may not have normally see in their own enviroment. Thus, bringing people together from different communities. The mission of the Tim Pratt Quartet is to inspire creativity and to promote faith in people.
