Bio
Born and raised in central Saskatchewan,
Tim Romanson has established himself as a singer,
songwriter and musician in the Canadian music
scene. As a multi-instrument performer, he's had
an opportunity to perform with various artists from
across Canada and the U.S.
His first music performances began playing with his father, a respected fiddle player, at various weddings, cabarets and jamborees around Saskatchewan. Wanting to further his musical boundaries, Tim joined Saskatchewan legend, Lenny Bilinski, in 1995 as a drummer. Lenny Bilinski and the Gypsies played full time across Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta at every bar, rodeo, and jamboree possible. He remained in the band as a drummer for 9 years before making a bold decision to trade his sticks for a bow and some picks.
Following in his father's footsteps, Tim's love of the fiddle soon took him down a new path. Although playing many different types of music, country music became his priority. Adding pedal steel guitar to his resume, Tim received some necessary experience at the front of the stage as a freelance musician, but it doesn't end there. Now a vocalist/musician, Tim soon added song writing which has become an important part of his career.
After the loss of his mother to breast cancer in 2007, Tim took a hiatus from music to spend time with family and concentrate on building a solo career in music. Currently working on his first album, Tim is now playing shows and delighting audiences with his band playing a blend of Top 40 and Outlaw Country - Rock along with a dynamic fiddle show, making for an exciting entertainment package for any venue. Tim will also be appearing at various fundraisers such as "Relay for Life" in support of cancer research.
Influenced by many artists of different genres, Tim's biggest influence will always be his father. Others that have had a significant place in Tim's music are Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr., Johnny Cash, Jackson Taylor, Marty Stuart, Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard, Steve Miller Band, Dierks Bentley, and Paul Brandt to name a few. Along with Canadian fiddle greats Calvin Vollrath, Donny Parenteau, Lenny Bilinski, and many other countless friends and musicians.
