Bio
Tim Wolffs dj-career starts with a bang in 2005 with a residency in Amsterdams notorious TWSTd-bar. When Tim takes up producing a couple of years later, things really start to take off. He reaches the finals of Hollands biggest producers competition Vinylized in 2007 and 2008, attracting the attention of techno veteran Estroe. The start of 2009 sees his first release Sostenuto EP on Estroes and Acid Junkies renowned label EevoNext Recordings. The tracks get picked up by masters of the trade such as Steve Rachmad and Josh Wink, who includes the track Branch in the prestigious Resident Advisor podcast. On the heels of this success come great gigs such as Awakenings Festival, TWSTd QNSDY Open Air, Rockit Festival and the Tube in Belgrade, along with countless club dates in venues like Paradiso, Studio 80 and Sugar Factory.
After a release on Tik Tok Music, Train to 020 EP, Tim returns to EevoNext late 2009 for his third release Senor Swanky EP, which includes a remix by Estroe. In November of that same year, techno-demigod Dave Clarke picks up Tims unreleased promo-track Get Ready, drops it at a packed Awakenings edition at the Gashouder, and puts it in his November top ten chart and on his 3FM White Noise Best of 2009 list. Tims tracks and sets continue to pop up in Daves international radio show White Noise after that.
Meanwhile the future looks bright. A flurry of releases is planned for the remainder of 2010, many of which are already heavily supported by international dj big whigs. A vinyl release with Marcus Gehring on Amsterdams hottest new label Piekup Records; no less than three vinyl releases on Darko Essers Wolfskuil imprint, including remixes by Steve Rachmad, Quince, Estroe and Darko himself; and remixes for Tango & Cash a.k.a. Marko Nastic and Kobayah, for Camiel Daamen on Klopfgeist, and for 2010 Vinylized winner Jorg Murcus on Outside the Box Records. Youd almost forget Tim holds a PhD in political philosophy and teaches at Amsterdam University!
