Bio
She made history in 2005 when she became the 3rd African American female to graduate with a B.S. degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M University. After graduation, she worked as an engineer in the construction industry while she danced for the Houston Rockets and Houston Comets basketball teams before enrolling back into Texas A&M for grad school. She is now a full time student in the Mays Business School and the successful entrepreneur of Tina B Poetry.
In 2008, she competed nationally as a member of Houstons H-Town Slam Team, she was Artist of the Week in Houston Press in 2009, and she opened for major rap artist J. Cole of Roc Nation Records in 2010. She was also given the distinct honor and invitation to give a poetic tribute to Mr. Lowry Mays, founder of the highly acclaimed Mays Business School at Texas A&M. She was highlighted on ESPN as she performed a custom, motivational poem for Texas A&M's women's basketball team, and she also appeared on the KCEN Morning Show of NBC.
She has performed at notable venues across the country such as the Wortham Theater, House of Dereon, Ensemble Theater, Miller Outdoor Theater, and many more to uplift and motivate people through her poetry. She has been noted for her powerful delivery and dynamic stage presence that inevitably holds your attention.
