"Who's Got Your"

It's the question on every American's mind. Through a challenging song title for a debut single in these tough times, it may be advantageous to 21- year old New Yorker Tina Parol. "Who's Got Your Money?" is a vengeful anthem with a carefree attitude, where Parol's alluring pop/rock vocals are well matched to her lively image. In a similar vein to Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" and Pink's "So What" she self-medicates by getting back at her cheating boyfriend by spending all of your dough. Like Lavigne and Pink, Parol isn't just another pretty, packaged pop start, either. Her songwriting talent includes collaborations with producers Danja and SAM and Sluggo, and she also wrote "Rock Boy" the international B-side to Britney Spears' "If U Seek Amy". - Billboard magazine

Bio

Tina Parol burst onto the music scene with her first single “Who’s Got Your Money.” Released on iTunes on April 7, “Who’s Got Your Money” went into immediate radio rotation in Dallas, Reno, Salt Lake City, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, San Antonia, and Corpus Christi. Even Perez Hilton chimed in, describing the song as, “power pop that makes you go grrrr!!!!,” adding that “it has you singing along the first time you hear it.” “Who’s Got Your Money” “officially” impacted at radio on May 19, 2009
Tina is a 21- year old New York City native who began writing songs at age 11, surrounded by music as diverse as the city she so proudly calls home. Raised by immigrant parents from Poland, Tina was encouraged at a young age to work hard and take her musical talents to the next level. Influenced by everyone from Madonna and Blondie to the Police and Queen, Tina grew up writing music and recording demos. By the age of 18 she had enrolled at New York University to study record production and engineering. At the end of her freshman year Tina was focusing all of her energy on her career as an artist, and things quickly fell into place. As fate would have it, David Ehrlich, a prominent music manager, ended up on her Myspace page and soon Tina was signed to Universal Motown records by Sylvia Rhone.
In 2008, Tina lent her songwriting talents to Britney Spears for her single “Rock Boy.” But this has not been her only success as a songwriter. She has also collaborated with stand- out songwriters such as Danja (Madonna, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Mariah Carey, Diddy, Busta Rhymes, Duran Duran, Usher) S*A*M and Sluggo (Kelly Rowland, Gym Class Heroes, Metro Station), Matt Mahaffey (Pink, Beyonce, Smash Mouth, The White Tie Affair) and Espionage (Chris Brown, Beyonce, David Cook.
After having written songs with some of the best in the business, Parol is now focused on her own album which will be released by Universal Motown.
The songs on Tina’s album, “Shrinking Violet were inspired by her own stories and those of her family. As a result, the record is filled with an eclectic array of emotions. The album’s title is taken from a lyric from her song “Crazy”. “Shrinking Violet” is a metaphor for the timid, introverted high-school girl who eventually “blossomed into a strong, confident person”.
Her music showcases her incredible talent and diversity as an artist and songwriter. Tracks such as “Going Under” and "I Already Know” deal with the intense happiness of love-at-first-sight, while "Crazy" focuses on the pain and uncertainty it can cause. The heartfelt “What Else Do I Need?” tells the story of her parents’ struggles as immigrants and her grandmother's fight to stay alive during World War II.
