Bio

Tin Can Radio are a band like no other. Their infectious flavour of indie-inspired art rock takes listeners on a sonic journey through dreamy landscapes, sing-along hooks, punchy guitar driven riffs and grinding dubstep breakdowns. Their ambitious sonic approach to songwriting, coupled with their engaging live performance, has whipped up a whirlwind of support and captivated audiences nationwide.

The Brisbane based 5 piece launched their debut album ‘Chase the Sun, Hold the Night’ in April 2011 and set off on a 21 date national album launch tour, covering nearly every state & territory in Australia. At the time of writing, the band had already sold out their launch shows in Western Australia and played to near capacity crowds for the shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

The album itself was extremely well received with three of the singles (Hot Trash, Days to Dust & Skeletons) from the album receiving Triple J play in the lead up to and throughout the duration of the album launch. The album also enjoyed rotation and general plays on FBi, PBS, 3RRR, RtR, 4ZZZ, as well as numerous other community stations nationally.

It is a Tin Can Radio live show which sets this band apart. Their energetic, live performance is something that needs to be seen first hand in order to be fully understood. It has earned them respect from fans and industry alike and seen the band perform along side the likes of The Mystery Jets, Last Dinosaurs, Wild Marmalade, perform live at the A-league finals and play on summer festival bills including the Woodford Folk Festival, Blah Blah Blah festival, Manifest and Island Vibe festival.

Stay tuned…

“Tin Can Radio was polished, engaging and an absolute highlight from start to finish... They had the dancefloor pulsating but also mastered the epic outro that had your spine tingling.” Alex Hardy, Drum Magazine Sydney

“Tin Can Radio keeps energy levels high throughout the entire genre-smashing set and gets the audience (and this reviewer) moshing. I honestly think I may have found my new favourite band.” Erik K Veland, Rave Magazine

“[Hot Trash is a] Perfect little ditty for the summer months. It's got Foals' sensibility but put through the pop wringer. 4/5” Dom Alessio, Triple J
