TINKU

Roland Ricaurte, the leader of the band, is an indian columbian musician, multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer and ethnomusicologist. For over 20 years he made a research work with 17 native comunities in the American continent, exploring their music, traditions and cosmogony. From 1990 he's living in Italy continuing his reserch and divulging this knowledge througt an collection of nearely 200 original musical instruments. From 5 years he colaborate with Alessandro Taborri, musician and multi-instrumentalist from Rome, virtuoso of charango, keyboard player and percussionist.
Equipped with over fifty instruments, old and modern of every sort such as Andean and Amazon flutes, percussion instruments and drums, chordophones as charango, tiple, violin and guitar, keyboards and synthetizers, they narate the feelings of millenary people in a variety of languages (Kechua, Aymarà,Spanish, Italian and English) with a strong evocative power. TINKU is a fusion of diferent musical geners, inspired by authentical sonorities and rythms from south america.
This musical event is an explosion of diferent forms of expressions that exalting the natural elements, the love for life and the respect for Mother Earth. The intercultural value of sharing is an instrument of music enrichment and a positive message for the new generations.
In order to create more evocative effects they also make use, in their perfomances, of video projections.

TINKU has won the 1° AWARD "background music 2010" with a jury composed by ENNIO MORICONE, NICOLA PIOVANI and LUOIS BACALOV.
