Full Biography of Band Leader-LUKE CASEY.

LONDON
Luke Casey has an impressive musical pedigree. Born in Middlesex, UK, in 1972 to Paul Casey and Marilyn Parker, he was exposed to music at a very early age. His Uncle, Andrew Parker, was drummer for legendary English rock group U.F.O, and was a formative influence on Luke. “My parents took me to see Andy play regularly from about age 5. It was pretty mind-blowing to have a close family member involved in such a successful group. I decided pretty early on in my life that I was going to be a drummer, so I started having lessons, at age 8.”
EARLY DAYS
Luke and family migrated to New Zealand in 1986 and, by the age of 16, had already established him self as a staple on the Auckland live music scene. “My first band was called Albino Slug-hardly a name destined for huge commercial success” Regardless, this band ‘mutated’ to become the legendary Flying Nun Act- S.P.U.D and, in the course of the next 10 years, Luke has recorded and toured with NZ artists as diverse as Carly Binding, Jordan Reyne, Grace, Sulata, Spargo, Second Child, Bygone Era and Ted Clarke. “I did a lot of work for the Deepgrooves record label in the early 1990’s and from that ended up doing a lot of sessions”.
