Tipse

Tipse was born Jayquan Crittenden in Los Angeles, CA on May 27, 1989. When he was 16 years of age he moved to Apple Valley, CA a city located in the high desert. Since the 7th grade, he enjoyed rapping and making his own beats. Tipse was influence by artists such as: Notorious BIG, Bone Thugs -N- Harmony, T.I., and Juelz Santana, and producers such as: Cool and Dre, Swizz Beatz, and Droopie. At the age of 19, he signed to Swagg Genius Entertainment, after his popular club single “Jerkin' Holdin' my Fitted Cap”. In 2009 his independent mixtape “Damn There Famous” was released, which featured the street anthem “Swagg or the Cash”. Tipse has shared the stage with artists such as G.Malone, JRock, Mike Jones, Jim Jones, Suga Free, Marques Houston and other local artist.

Even after dealing with many frivolous promoters, Tipse didn't give up on his career, he was motivated to succeed. His street buzz got so big that he was inspiring other local teenagers to join his movement. They would come visit Tipse while he was working at Swagg Genius Clothing Store, which is affiliated to his label Swagg Genius Ent. Tipse was then driven to formulate his crew known as SMASH. Tipse and SMASH hit the streets forming street teams who passed out thousands of CD's and flyers promoting shows at local venues. He is currently in the studio working on his new upcoming mixtape “Mixtape Nightmare Vol.2”.
