Tivona

Born in Palm Springs,California,Tivona fell in love with hiphop as a child. The product of a broken family, Tivona used hiphop as an escape from the world around her. She began writing poetry and reciting her favorite tunes. She was convinced she found her calling in rap music. When her Mother relocated to Texas, Tivona choose not to go down south and stayed in Southern California, making Los Angeles her home. A teenaged Tivona continued to do what her Mother had always taught her to do and that was Hustle. "My Mom always told me you gotta do what you gotta do lol, so that's what I did." It wasn't  long before doing what she had to do got her arrested and that's when she realized she was on a path of destruction. After being put on federal probation for drug charges from an arrest out in Inglewood, CA. Tivona worked to turn things around in her life. Soon after being placed on probation she discovered she was pregnant. The pregnancy news came just as she was about to sign with a unnamed label. She was forced to decide if she would sign or abort her unborn child. Unsure on what to do she believed that the child was a gift from God and walked away from the deal. Things turned for the worst after choosing to keep the baby and Tivona found herself pregnant and homeless. " I lost everything. Everything!" She ended up staying with a friend and continued recording before the birth of her Son. "After I had my son I thought I was just gonna get back out there but it was hard and I struggled being a single mom and got little help from his Dad"  The Father of her child whom she later had a daughter by was often abusive and unsupportive. He was much older than her and  she felt he  was holding her back. Tivona found her self lost and in need of change. She wanted to get back to what she feel in love with, Music! She ended ties with the Father of her kids for good. She got back on her A game, invested in a home recording studio and started working on new sounds. "Bad Girl Music" that's all me, that's my story and it's  a new beginning". "I feel like a late bloomer in a sense although I grew up too fast. I learned all the bad shit first and the good things last. But I'm focused, I got bad girl music and I'm back on top. I hope to inspire young girls with stories similar to mine and remind them that there is hope and never to give up!"
