"The Jazznosis Files" ~ 2011

Bio

T'izm Sound Productions, LLC—Chicago's first and only urban recording label—was established because neither Chicago nor the midwest had a means for recording artists to build careers and market products. Founded by DJ Jazznosis and bilingual (English/Spanish) spoken word artist FyreMouff, T'izm Sound Productions, LLC is an emergent independent recording label that specializes in the genres of spoken word, conscious hip-hop, non-traditional jazz, electronica and R&B/soul. The label's music is enjoyed both stateside and overseas.

Blessed with the opportunities to perform with Chicago’s internationally renowned jazz trumpeter Corey Wilkes, share the stage with Boots Riley of The Coup and open for soul vocalist Jaguar Wright, FyreMouff is the product of a father from Hermandale, MO and a mother from Guyana, South America. Growing up in the Rosemoor community on the city's far south side where she still resides, FyreMouff is a 1988 graduate of Hyde Park Career Academy. She holds a B.A. In English from the University of IL at Chicago.

DJ Jazznosis also grew up on Chicago's south side in the South Shore neighborhood and is a 1988 graduate of South Shore High School. In 1986, he began DJing for classmates who were trying their hands at emceeing. Holding a B.A. degree in T.V. Production from Columbia College, DJ Jazznosis began his journey as both a self-taught DJ and musician in 1997. His accomplishments include opening for Gza of Wu-Tang, headlining at Chicago's Looptopia festival and serving as the official DJ for the city's annual H Games tournament, which is hosted by Mike Adamle.

T'izm Sound's duo has triumphed over adversities such as poverty, joblessness and homelessness to create a sound that reflects both the midwest's work ethic and the inner city living experience. While the east coast, west coast and “dirty south” each have their trademark sounds, T'izm Sound has a new rhythm for you to nod your head to: ecclectic clarity.
