"Sounds Of The Underground"

"Our region of the United States is filled with a variety of flavors that showcase the talent that is brewing in the movement. TJ King is a chill and talented artist that sounds like hip-hop from the late 90’s, early 2000’s that was more lyric central. The wordplay in this track is definitely worth hitting the play button a few times to absorb the depth of the words. His social media pages list him as a New Yorker but also list Austin, Texas as a city he represents. Take a listen to TJ King in “Corrupt Conduct”." - Gabriel Barrio

Still working on that hot first release.

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Taylor “TJ” King has been honing his skills as a Hip-Hop MC for over a decade. Gabrielle Barrio of describes King as a “chill and talented artist with a sound reminiscent of lyrical hip-hop from the late 90’s, with wordplay worth hitting the play button a few times to absorb.”

TJ KING is currently in the studio working on his debut EP “Better Late Than Never” which will feature up and coming local and international producers. He is also developing a YouTube series entitled “MicDreams: A Hip-Hop journey” that will chronicle his journey to the top of the rap game.

With a melodious flow and hard-hitting metaphors, TJ deliversgenuine and thought provoking concepts. In his track “Lone Survivor” King tackles the issue of student debt from the perspective of a first generation college graduate:

“What about it? Why should I go to college when dope boys I used to ride with are pushing Audi’s without it?”

With influences such as Nas, Big L, Black Thought and Talib Kweli, TJ takes pride in the art of rap and refuses to “waste a bar”. He and his family now reside in Austin, TX, where he continues to use his talents to bring awareness to important social issues, while challenging the largely fabricated and commercialized Hip-Hop culture that exists today.
