Bio

Holding the reggae dancehall banner high, T-Jay is on the verge of making a major footprint in the music industry. With his fusion of dancehall, reggae & ska, his catchy melodies, passionate lyrics yet maintaining the fidelity of his childhood struggles, T-Jay is about to take dancehall by storm.

While other children’s after school activities were spent in front of a television and playing with their peers, T-Jay spent most of his child hood in the studio with his father who surrounded him with some of reggaes pioneers which included Bob Marley, Pat Kelly, Sugar Minott, Pluto Chiverton, Gregory Issacs, Dennis Brown, Luciano, Marcia Griffiths, Terro Fabulous, Chaka Demus, Shabba Ranks. Jack Rubie, Beenie Man, Yellow man and many other great reggae performers.

Being the son of legendary producer Derrick Douglas, he was born to a family of musical icons including his grandfather King of Ska Derrick Morgan and aunt Queen I-frica Writing and composing his first song entitled “Jigga” at the tender age of 8; he stumbled upon his talent and has utilized it ever since.

T-jay wasn’t a straight “A” student but he never felt his true intelligence was expressed through a schools report. He found that music was the best way to express his true intellect.

Born to his mother Donna Douglas, Travis Douglas, better known by his stage name
“T-jay” is the youngest of five boys. His brother before him is known to be his mentor and has assisted him in nurturing his talent. This immediately added to his thrive of success.

Currently in his teenage years, T-Jay is already proving to many that his abilities are in a class of it’s own. Capturing the attention of Prince Productionz CEO William Williams and landing an endorsement deal with Fashion Mogul Richard J Drenz, T-Jay has made several appearances on "Smile Jamaica" (equal to Good Morning America), other talk shows and several performances on Jamaica's top stage shows along side the like of Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Movado, Vybz Kartel, I-Octane, and many others. T-Jay is embarking upon a great deal of advancements which will catapult his career into heights in which he’s only imagined.

“When listening to his rhymes, you can tell right away that this young man is extremely intelligent as well as a gifted artist” says William, which is only one of the many producers who has witnessed the growth of his talent as it developed over time.

“Growing up, I was always taught not to wait for anything but instead; give my all to go get it, “ says T-Jay.
