Lyrics

Sleeping Space

Written By: T.J. Fry

Andy came down from New York City
In his company car
to the rurals where I live
You know it's been about a year or so, now
Since we got together and talked
We talked like old friends do

Well buddy take your pillow out of your road bag
And go ahead and find yourself
A corner in the room
Sleeping Space is getting scarce these days
And as I watch my children grow,
You know our past gets further away

It's the only time
We get to stay up 'til daylight anymore
Sharing all of our stories we missed along the line
Staying up to tell our tales
It's just a sign of the time gone by

Blanket of Shame

Written By: T.J. Fry

Night time falling
Like a blanket of shame
so you hide beneath it
so noone sees the pain in your face

but now your secret's out
and your candle's burning down

so you go out walking
down a no name street in a no name town
and you know you're nowhere
you're feeling like a face in the crowd
and you got 'em talkin now
and your lifeline's growing shorter
by the hour

but now your secret's out
and your candle's burning down
your lifeline's growing shorter by the hour

you can run but you can't hide
from what's coming down on you
they just call you dead man walkin
in big gray heavy shoes
and when it's time you can't deny it
cause there's nothing more to say
it was one shot fired and
they just walked away

3rd & Market St.

Written By: T.J. Fry

Well there's would be stars in roadside bars
And they'll be strummin them songs on their
Six string guitars and they'll be
Pourin their hearts our fire flies from a jar
Every night

Hoping that someone sees them there
From their bar stools and dining room chairs
While all the one-and-runners seem
More concerned with their beer

But Third and Market St.
Has become a home to me

Well all the patrons start to fill them spaces
While they empty drinks into empty faces, well,
All of you regulars take your places tonight

And all the soldiers falling one by one
and the longer stay it becomes less fun, until
All of your money is gone and you don't
Want to drive

But Third and Market St.
Has become a home to me

And some day Perry and Marie will solve
the problems of the world
... but not today
And there's a smell of Italian food
In the air tonight
And everyone still smokes cigarretts there
and it's still alright
At Third and Market St.

That Third and Market St.
Has become a home to me
That Third and Market St.
Was such a hole to me
That Third and Market St.
It nearly wasted me
That Third and Market St.
...wonder if I'll ever leave

Ruby

Written By: T.J. Fry

I spent a long time watching you
Says you, you spent a long time watching me too

But I spent a lot of time chasing women drinkin wine
and I really don't mind saying
There ain't much to say, then, for myself
And I really didn't mind settling down
Now that I'm here with you woman

It's gotta be hard on you woman
So very hard on you woman
It's gotta be hard on you
Living with a man like me

Now I see her ruby red lips comin to kiss me
So I guess, you'll see my face turn ruby red too

But I spent alot of time chasing women drinkin wine
and I really don't mind saying
There ain't much to say, then, for myself
And I really didn't mind settling down
Now that I'm here with you woman

It's gotta be hard on you woman
So very hard on you woman
It's gotta be hard on you
Living with a man like me
