Bio

Tim often says "People dont buy Stevie Wonder's music because he is blind - and I dont want them to buy mine because I have CP - I want them to buy it because they like the music and the message".
Influenced by a diverse range of artists from the world of classic rock through to the contemporary alternative pop, TJ has honed his skills as a songwriter and professional performer since the early 90s. In addition to professionally busking and performing solo in venues locally and nationally, TJ has supported prominent artists such as Wendy Mathews and Rick Price at particular gigs. Tim’s work has been endorsed by industry professionals Mike Tramp (Whitelion) and Hoodoo Guru’s manager Michael McMartin who has described TJ’s material as ‘superb’. Recently in a writers critique session at APRA’s Song Summit 2010, Stuart Critchon said that ‘Wondering Why’ was a perfect radio song in the classic rock genre.

TJ ‘puts in the effort’ and has been rewarded by being able to be self sustaining, making all his income from my music - as he says, “songwriting and production is my career”. He has written, recorded and released three solo albums to critical success since 2001.

All albums are in profit, with 2,000 units sold across the catalogue, which is no mean feat considering this has been achieved without the aid of a recording company, promoter or distributor. TJ also made the commitment right from the start to donate 20 - 30% of CD sales to help Cerebral Palsy organizations worldwide. The next album, ’All the Pieces Fit’, is currently in production.

TJ has achieved some industry recognition, however, he is now moving into the next stage of his career. He has developed a strong desire to write material for, and with, other artists as well as continuing to record and promote his independent releases. As part of this goal, earlier this month TJ moved to Sydney from Canberra to be ‘closer to the action’ and be more available for more bookings.
