One of the emerging artists will be 14-year-old TJ Moor from Portland doing a solo set. TJ Played at Hopson last year. This past spring he played a gig on Muddy Waters birthday at the Aladdin Theater in Portland with Willie Big Eyes Smith, Pinetop and Bob Stroger. This kid is good, especially on slide.
You can find a bio about him on The Blues Foundation's BITS page under BluesKids. - Greg Johnson- President of the Cascade Blues Association
TJ is a total phenomenon. Incredible chops and phrasing for a 14 year old, let alone a 40 year old.
Definitely an act to catch if you can. - Son Jack Jr
TJ, your music is incredible. You are the real deal! - Founding member of the Las Vegas Blues Society

Bio
Traditional blues/ragtime/gospel. I play the oldest of the blues, ragtime, and gospel around--stuff that was played in the 1920s and 1930s. For the past year I've spent more time than ever just listening to music which has helped in channeling some early country (Merle Travis, Hank Williams, etc.), blues/jazz (Wynonie Harris, Louis Jordan, etc.), and early rock (Bill Haley, Fats Domino, etc.) into my music. However, the roots of the music is what hits the heaviest. In April 2008, I was honored to play at the Aladdin Theater with Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, Pinetop Perkins, and Bob Stroger. I've been the recipient of 5 scholarships to attend the Port Townsend Country Blues Workshops and was honored to have been asked to speak as a scholarship recipient at Centrum's Annual Gala scholarship fundraising event in 2009. Invited to Clarksdale, Mississippi in 2007 to play at Pinetop Perkins' homecoming.
