Bio

Musician, songwriter and producer, T. Lyles, entered the music scene with instruments blasting coupled with profane lyrics and a confidence that still endures. He continues to bring his unique and soulful sound to his fans and they keep coming back for more.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and christened Thomas Anthony, T. Lyles grew up the youngest of seven siblings and a supportive and inspirational mother. Lyles discovered his love of music after receiving a drum set, a gift from his mother, who tired of him banging on everything in her house. And with this gift, the seed of music was planted. Self taught to play drums, guitar and keyboards Lyles vowed to put in the work, learn the lessons and share this love with the whole world. Lyles explains, 'I do not use my music as a means to get things, or buy things. My music is personal to me yet, important to share with the world'.

In high school it looked as if the 6'7' teen would be a star basketball player, and for a while he was. But even while playing ball, his love of music never left him. His basketball coach once commented that 'if he did not want to go pro it would be because of his love of music'. Attending both Panola Jr. College and Kentucky University on basketball scholarships Lyles graduated from Panola Jr. College with a degree in Psychology and Sociology and left Kentucky University to play in the NBA and CBA.

Lyles finally yielded to his first love, writing and producing songs. Greatly influenced by the sound of the Midwest (early 90's), Prince and Lenny Kravits, Lyles' music is fused with rock, funk, R&B and jazz. As a songwriter he writes from his own experiences, life's challenges and the moments and people that have touched him. In 1996, Lyles released his independent R&B debut CD 'Songs from the Heart' in Canada and the singles 'Beautiful U' and 'I'll do Any Thing' met with critical success and Lyles gained his first fan base. His sophomore album '4 the Sex of It' in 1998 was released while producing the CD 'I Am Man' for Canadian country artist, Motesy. The song 'Must I Die' was a Canadian Billboard top ten hit. Lyles also produced and played for Canadian pop artist Karrie Krosley's 'Believe' Project. A Canadian tour shortly followed and several nominations for a Canadian JUNO Award.

In 1999, Lyles returned to Indianapolis and formed the R&B group, The Look. In 2001, he went back into the studio and produced 'Proud 2B American and N-Tyme. All proceeds from cd sales were given to the 911 Rescue and Recovery Fund. His next project 'Trapped' featuring Love/Baby, The Pain and N-Vasion and the smash hit remake, 'If You Don't Know Me By Now' was favorably met by the music industry and record pools across the country.

T. Lyles has yielded to his love of music and not being able to ground himself to one sound, T. Lyles has fused all genres of music to introduce Urban Rock. So please allow me to introduce to you, Mr. T. Lyles.
