Bio

TMarshal was born in Detroit, MI. Marshall spent much of her early years being raised by her mother. However, the relationship was far from perfect. Under the care of her mother Marshall was physically and verbally abused. At the age of 10, Marshall became a ward of Wayne County Social Services.
For eight years, Marshall transitioned between shelters, group homes and foster homes. She was subjected to both sexual and emotional abuse. Throughout this difficult period Marshall managed to keep her grades up, and never lost the desire to fight.
At the age of 16, Marshall faced life on the streets after running away from a foster home. After being homeless for a few months, she moved in with her cousin and was able to complete her high school education. However, Marshall put her college career on hold because of the lack of financial resources.
Immediately following high school, Marshall began working two minimum wage jobs in order to satisfy financial obligations. Marshall’s burning desire to achieve something great drove her to speak to her high school guidance counselor, who assisted her in researching college scholarships. Since Marshall had been a ward of the Social Service system, she was also qualified to receive further college assistance providing that she stayed in the state of Michigan. At that point Marshall’s dream became reality.
At the age of 19, Marshall enrolled at Ferris State University were she majored in engineering. Later in her college career, she began mentoring freshmen. Her life story served as inspiration for young students facing difficult times.
After obtaining her college degree, Marshall began speaking to children in the foster care system. She began to develop a passion for speaking and helping others. She later became the mentee of world-renowned motivational speaker, Les Brown. “TMarshal does not speak to impress an audience. She speaks to connect with an audience,” said Les Brown, renowned motivational speaker and best selling author.
Today Marshall is a successful motivational speaker and author. Her autobiography "Ordinary Me: From Survival to Success," serves as a living testament of the power of a determined spirit who would not let the weight of the world crush her dreams. Marshall’s future plans include, developing curriculums for youths aging out of foster care, opening shelters for abused women and children, and setting up scholarship funds for students that cannot afford a college education.
