Bio

the follow up to the 2003 debut Songs From the Floor, the boltsmokers take a turn down the roads that inspired Hydroradio - particularly the northeastern United States in and around the Poconos/Catskills area. during a tour in 2004, mark mckinney was inspired by music that was being broadcast from a radio station deep in the mountains, the first hydro-powered radio station in the country. that music, combined with experiences from traveling and playing country barns to underground indie rock clubs from the west to east coasts, shaped the lyrics and music on Hydroradio. accompanied by eric lewis and andy ratliff, as well as memphis long-timer craig yarbrough and veteran player louis meyers, the music stays rooted in the cross-section of musical stylings that always seem to collide and mix together in memphis. originally recorded at easley-mccain studios, the recordings were lost in the fire that swept thru the studio last year. the band pulled together to catch it again, and Hydroradio is sure to please both the musical and lyrical ear, and will likely have you singing along after one listening.
