Tobias

Tobias, a native Rochesterian, has been in music and ministry for over 2 decades.   As a member of Devante’s (JODECI) Bassment Crew, along with Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Ginuwine, Static Major, Tweet, and many other uniquely talented individuals, Tobias, formerly known as Accion, was afforded a front row seat to the music industry as both a pupil and participant.  From recording and touring with JODECI and Da’ Bassment Crew to sharing stages with Sean Combs, The Notorious B.I.G, Mary J. Blige, Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary, Mike Peace, Public Enemy, Scarface, and a host of other world renown artists’ Tobias has been cultivating and sharing his gifts along with advancing God’s agenda throughout the US and abroad with savvy, excellence, integrity, and humility.  Tobias has appeared on VH1's Behind The Music in addition to the London based publication NJS4ever.  He's also had multiple appearances on Canada’s YES TV network formerly known as Crossroads TV which is viewed by millions of homes throughout Canada.  Most recently, the video for Tobias' single "C.L.A.P" premiered and debuted at number 7 on the Canadian based online TV show and publication Artists United World Wide which has a reach north of 500k unique visitors on an ongoing basis.  

Born into a household where he was surrounded by music, Tobias fell in love with sound and recorded his first song at the age of 7.  As part of the “hip-hop” generation he was involved in everything from break dancing and tagging to freestyling and battling. However, it wasn't until his later years did he began to use art and entertainment as a tool to enlighten, encourage, and move people to action in socially, spiritually, and culturally relevant way.

His penchant for lyrics that grip the soul and challenge the human spirit is rooted in transparency.  “I believe that when God’s children are transparent, exposing the good, bad, and ugly parts of our lives, people are not only able to see Jesus in us but they’re also able to see Jesus through us in a significant way.”  

To date Tobias has published 8 CD's, numerous articles, stood on countless platforms, and has been used to instigate transformation from college campuses to correctional facilities.  His first solo project entitled “Strange Fire," is registered with ASCAP, BDS, and Media Base and is currently being distributed via:  Itunes, Google Play, Amazon, and www.iamtobias.net.
