Still working on that hot first release.

It all started in 2009 on a rooftop in New York City, whilst shooting a video for his song Touching Dreams … After a lengthy hiatus from the band Catcha, Toby May decided this was the perfect time to embark upon a solo career.

Fast forward a number of years and over 100 songs later, May has enjoyed wide spread support in his adopted home of Switzerland as his reputation as a credible solo artist has grown. Following the release of his first solo EP and 3 singles, he has been performing shows with his full band, as a duo and solo, at Music Venues and Festivals across Switzerland, Japan and The USA. Never one to rest on his laurels, May has also provided the music for the Swiss Lottery Romandie TV campaign and many other corporate productions through his media company Unagi Sound.

And now he’s back doing what he does best with a whole new collection of songs, the Geneva based, British singer-songwriter proudly presents his brand new album… JOURNAL

Having capitalised on his journey, Toby May has compiled an album of 12 original tracks. Sharing some of the writing duties with drummer, Richard Spooner, these new songs have been inspired by May’s travels, hopes, fears and life experiences over the past few years.

After a successful crowd funding campaign on WeMakeIt, the majority of the new album was recorded and produced by Marco Jencarelli (Band Leader/Producer of Philipp Fankhauser) at his Soundfarm Studios complex in Obernau, Switzerland. A dazzling array of internationally renowned guest musicians, beautifully complement May’s songwriting skills. JOURNAL also contains 3 tracks* recorded and produced in the UK at Dulcitone Studios by Lee Russell (Julian Lennon/EZIO)

Take a musical journey through nostalgic trips abroad with SUPER8, enjoy a gathering of friends with CELEBRATE, explore the world through feline eyes with PETER COOPER or fall under the beguiling spell of MARGUERITE and then wonder where it all went wrong with ME & WORDS.
